I got to tour with The Epoxies last year, and was constantly asking "Who is this?" about the incredible music they'd play by band's I'd never heard before.
Photo by josheesh With such a bad-ass punk/disco/new-wave sound, you know they have some stellar inspiration to draw on. I asked Roxy, the interpretive-spastic-dancing-queen and lead-singer, if she'd make a podcast for me with some of her favorite bands.

The PLASTIC shows this past weekend were stellar! The Phenomenauts got to debut a new gadget, The Kitten Cannon, basically a large gun that shoots stuff everywhere (like confetti, glitter, pixie-sticks or whatever we feel like shoving in there). It has been a well-kept secret that many of The Phenomenauts' best ideas are actually stolen from The Teenage Harlets, and the Kitten Cannon is no exception, built strong enough to "launch a kitten through another kitten." We meant to make two of them, but during construction, Atom (The Harlets drummer) accidentally blew one up and may have permanently damaged his hearing in the process. Whoops.
K4 took an ass-ton of pictures, most of which I don't understand or remember.
Thank-you to everyone who came out for these wacky shows, and thanks to The Phenomenauts, Epoxies, Groovie Ghoulies, Teenage Harlets and Rock N Roll Adventure Kids for making everything so ridiculous and fun!!!
Big D And The Kids Table were fucking awesome at The Fillmore on Thursday night as part of their current tour with Anti Flag!
Remember this one from a few years back? I am just SO FUNNY!!! Sorry. Anyway,
Big D's latest album, Strictly Rude on Side One Dummy Records, blows my mind. I haven't felt this way about a ska record since hearing Op Ivy's Energy and Less Than Jake's Pezcore for the first time. Here is a stream of the first track, Steady Riot, it reminds me of Sound System and Soundcheck (funny how similar those song-names are), click play!
The Fillmore was where my friends and I would go to see our favorite gigantic bands years and years ago. I usually wouldn't care about shit like this, but I am just so incredibly stoked to see my bands playing on that legendary stage, and felt plenty of vicarious pride as the kids standing behind me were yelling out song from albums I helped release.
PLASTIC!!! A Night of 80's Punk Rock and New Wave... besides your favorites bands own songs they will cover a few 80's songs that they will never repeat...awesome...

School started this week so I've been behind on website updates, but not on mail-order! The post office is getting sick of seeing me every day and has been making me put stamps on all the packages by hand. The Tera Melos pre-orders have been sent but may take up to a week since most of you ordered with "Media Mail" shipping. It took a week to send them all since they're very securely wrapped in cardboard to avoid damage, sorry to keep you waiting but this one will be worth it! E-mail the address listed up on the top of this website if you have any questions on that.
Some quick updates:
The Springman Records showcase in Sacramento on Friday was a huge success and lots of fun, thank you all for coming out! I especially enjoyed handing out cupcakes and shark-themed 3D glasses to everyone before The Phenomenauts' set, even though the 3D glasses had nothing to do with anything. The Shecretions built some AMAZING games out of cardboard that we didn't get to use since it was so crowded and I was on crutches, but I saved them in my closet and will bring them out to future events so you can throw the red rocket in the black hole and blast Skelator! Hopefully they'll also be into setting up the Kissing-Booth...
Tera Melos is on tour with The Fall Of Troy and running out of merch.
Big D And The Kids Table's pre-order for the Brain Failure split starts in.. Shit, 15 minutes, I better set that up, check back in an hour.
The Phenomenauts, Teenage Harlets, Groovie Ghoulies and Epoxies have something epic up their sleeve that I'll tell you about later.
Jason Webley is in Europe.
And get comfortable with the idea of your favorite record of 2007 being called Huge Black Man just so this doesn't catch you off-guard once it finally drops.
During the last show of The Epoxies' tour with The Damned, team synthetic pulled a Spinal Tap and, well, see for yourself:
Big news (for us at least) in March or April, PLASTIC is going to be huge. You'll know what I'm talking about when you're older.
In other news, happy Thanksgiving! I won't be hungry for at least two weeks, that was awesome. Vegan stuffing is the greatest invention in the history of everything, major props to Thee Merry Widows and Teenage Harlets for being such amazing cooks!
Come back in a few days for some epic holiday mail-order package deals on just about everything, and hot pictures of your sister.
*I'm on tour with The Phenomenauts and The Epoxies! This tour will run until June 18th all over the country, so come visit me at the merch table. *Big D And The Kids Table will be out with Catch 22 co-headlining the Summer Of Ska Tour! *Tera Melos has some west-coast shows lined up, then guitarist Nick will be making a movie over this summer. *The Teenage Harlets are going on tour this summer all over the country too, including a bunch of dates with The Secretions! The new Teenage Harlets CD, Up The Fixx comes out July 25th! *Jason Webley is always playing shows everywhere, and has a brand new limited edition "Super 7 Inch" project coming out on 11/11 that you can read more about on his website! *We are re-printing Pain's Jabberjaw CD with all new artwork, look out for it next month! *The Secretion's new CD, Coming To Save The World, along with the latest Pain re-issue, Full Speed Ahead, will be in stores on 6/6/06!
Mail-order update: Springman Mail-order is on hold until June 21st, so for now, visit www.interpunk.com or your favorite online mail-order, and send us an e-mail if there is anything you can't find. We have been a bit slow with mail-order since moving to Sacramento earlier this year, so we are going to make sure it is back to being a well oiled super-fast machine before we bring it back. If you are still waiting on an order for anything other than Pain's Jabberjaw CD, PLEASE send me an e-mail so we can take care of that (and if you're waiting on the Pain disc, we will have them back in stock soon!)
Lots more exciting things are in the works, stay tuned for updates. Come back over the next few days for everyone's updated summer tour dates. And thanks again for all your support!
Our catalog is fixed! Online mail-order is working again, AND we have everything back in stock including those Phenomenauts patches everyone keeps asking about! (We are still working on the website re-design though)
Mail-order was backed up a few weeks while Avi had surgery and was away recovering (from his epic battle with the Tiger/Shark/Deer-thing), but is all caught up as of today, so your order will show up early next week if you've been waiting.
In other news, check out the updated Phenomenautstour dates with The Epoxies and Teenage Bottlerocket! Hopefully The Epoxies will bring their super-hot merch-girl out again for this one.
We just posted everyone's upcoming tour dates! [CHECK IT] The Phenomenauts are going out with The VooDoo Glow Skulls in March! And then The Epoxies in May and June! Tera Melos is literally hitting up CA, NM, WA, and a bunch of states in that area! Big D And The Kids Table is heading north on the Canadian Frostbite tour with BigWig, Death By Stereo, Musturd Plug, and The Flatliners! Jason Webley is going everywhere!
