I've just finished my first full-length album in almost four years. It is the tightest, rockin'est thing I've ever worked on and I'm kicking off the release with a big tour with my full band.
This is the cover of the record. I'll be putting up some of the music shortly.

It is going to be a great tour. I am being joined by Jherek Bischoff, Michael McQuilken and L. Aex Guy. They all played on the new record and are completely amazing and will be playing short solo sets of their own material at most of these shows.
I know I always ask for help spreading the word, but this time I really could use it. I've spent a bunch of time and money getting this record sounding right, but now I am way behind on getting the word out about these shows.
So, please spread the word! Tell your friends in these cities to come to the shows. Blog about me, put my songs on your myspace page, arrange leaves in the shape of my new album cover at busy intersections, become the editor of your local paper and write an article about the show, hypnotize pigeons and train them to peck the lyrics of my songs in peoples sandwiches.
Or, if you would like some cool flyers to give out to your friends, please reply with "street team" in the subject header and your e-mail. Let me know what city you are in and I will forward you some .pdf files. You can also send a message to: info@jasonwebley.com.
If you'd REALLY like to help totally plaster your town with flyers, please write me and I can try to get you free tickets to a show in exchange.
Ok, That is all for now. I am really excited about this album and this tour.
The Monsters of Accordion Tour is just one week away and I need your help to spread the word.
In case you don't know, I'm being joined by three of the craziest, most entertaining solo accordion performers in North America for a five night tour of the West Coast. I have this crazy idea that people will love this and that it could grow into some kind of travelling Lollapalooza of accordion players... Maybe I am crazy. But I'd love to do this again and travel farther than just the West Coast. But for that to happen, this year needs to be a huge success.
How can you help? First, come to one of the shows if you can. All of the details about the shows (and free MP3s) are at www.monstersofaccordion.com.
Secondly, spread the word!! If you know anyone who needs more accordion in their life, please forward them this message. Or if you'd REALLY like to help (and you live near Seattle, Portland, Eugene or the Bay Area) please follow this link to handbills and show flyers to hand out and post in prominent places.
Or even if you aren't on the West Coast, you can spread some accordion love by copying the link to the image below and posting it on your Profile, on your blog, on your dog or really anywhere and link back to www.monstersofaccordion.com.

I just found some fun interviews with a whole bunch of our bands over at Sound Scene Revolution. For your listening pleasure and entertainment, listen to their chats with The Phenomenauts, Tera Melos and Jason Webley. Their other interviews are pretty kick-ass too with a ton of my favorite bands, this website will keep me from being at all productive for the rest of this week == I talked to someone at PBS months ago about YouTube. It looks like they just pulled a quote from that conversation for a blog post about the future of the music industry on their "MediaShift" website. Not terribly exciting, but my parents will be happy to see my name on PBS. == This isn't punk rock at all, but my favorite book series of recent memory, the Song Of Ice And Fire cycle by George RR Martin, is being turned into a TV series by HBO and I am way super excited in the nerdy'est way possible. Read that shit if you want something way better than that Lord Of The Rings total bullshit. Start with "A Game Of Thrones" which is $3.99 on Amazon.com and everywhere else with the latest printing.
2. The "Mission Transmission" EP by The Phenomenauts is back in print for a very limited time only! This is the final pressing ever, hand-numbered to 500 on supernova-White-hot Wax.
3. Livin' On A Prayer, as performed by Jason Webley and The Dresden Dolls, with bonus philosophical discussion:
Jason Webley's on tour, with a full band! Trust me on this one, take off your shoes first or your socks might get blasted right through them.
Nov 15 - Portland, OR - Reed College Nov 16 - Eugene, OR - WOW Hall Nov 17 - Berkeley, CA - 924 Gilman St Nov 18 - Davis, CA - UC Davis Arc Ballroom Nov 19 - San Francisco, CA - Amnesia (21+) Nov 20 - Ashland, OR - The Black Sheep Nov 28 - Richland, CA - Ray's Golden Lion Nov 29 - Spokane, WA - Gonzaga Coffeehouse Nov 30 - Missoula, MT - The Loft Dec 1 - Olympia, WA - Capital Theatre Dec 2 - Bellingham, WA - Western Washington University
Jason has also just launched the website for his own record label, 11 Records! Music from Jason along with friends like Jherek Bischoff (of The Dead Science, Xiu Xiu, and lots of other projects). Free MP3s and suck, check that out!
And yes, he did play some unannounced shows in England this month with The Dresden Dolls...
I hope you had a safe and fun Halloween. Things at Springman HQ are BONKERS! Thank you for coming here for your Holiday shopping needs, we have lots of great cheap CDs and we appreciate your keeping our mail-order department super busy.
Here is a band-by-band update!
The Phenomenauts just announced another round of dates with The Toasters coming up this month! Visit their MySpace page for the details, and check back next week for EVEN MORE shows.
The Phenomenauts' Annual Zombie Party was incredible as usual this year, with a surprise appearance by The Teenage HarNuts:
Those with a good memory may remember The PhenomeNuts from last-year:
Big D And The Kids Table just played two epic Halloween parties in Boston at The Avalon! If you have pictures or video from either show, please post it online for us to share! Big D just got done playing a bunch of shows with The Toasters, I like how they play with our bands on both coasts. Check out Big D on tour with Rancid in December! Visit Big D on Myspace for tour updates.
The Groovie Ghoulies are almost done with their own Cramps tour, including their own Halloween show at The Fillmore in San Francisco! Check back soon for LOTS AND LOTS of shows all over California and more Ghoulie news... Updates on their MySpace page.
Tera Melos just got back from an epic tour with The Fall Of Troy! There is no rest for the awesome, Tera Melos will be recording for an EP CD this weekend. Three songs, it will be about 30 minutes, I guess that's an EP? They played almost all new songs on this Fall Of Troy tour, if you caught any of the sets, you ARE EXTREMELY EXCITED about these upcoming recordings. Stay tuned to Tera Melos' myspace page for more news and tour updates.
The Secretions are in the running to play the "Twisted Christmas" show at the Arco Arena in Sacramento! This would be the hugest show they have ever played, and our boys would get to make total asses of My Chemical Romance and Papa Roach. They won't make fun of Gnarls Barkley though. PLEASE!!!! Click here to vote. You have to register with KWOD first, it only takes a minute and if you click the box, they won't send you any annoying e-mails or ever bug you ever again.
Lots of Secretions shows coming up all over CA (and even Reno), visit them on MySpace for show listings and other news updates, and word on Danny Secretions new radio show!
Jason Webley just got back from tour Australia with The Dresden Dolls! Check him out this November touring the West Coast with a full band, including Jherek of The Dead Science and Xiu Xiu. If you attend one of the shows, please draw a unicorn for Jherek and tell him it's from me (Avi). This year's big Seattle show will be on November 11 instead of the usual Halloween! Tour dates and other updates are on Jason's website.
The Teenage Harlets are laying low, having started a big fight with The Phenomenauts over their "Free Angel Nova" t-shirt.. Just kidding! See them on tour all January and February, including a bunch of dates with our secret crushes in The Rock And Roll Adventure Kids! Add them on MySpace if you're fifteen years old.
The River City Rebels just got back from a very strange national fly-away tour of free shows paid for by a big evil cigarette company. I know lots of hippies who smoke, but none smoke independently made cigarettes, so eat a dick. It was a great tour, and debuted a bunch of The Rebels fucking incredible new songs! Stay tuned for more news on that. Listen on their MySpace page!
The Rum Diary has been laying low, but has a brand new drummer and will start playing again next month! Stay tuned for news on that too. And check out their limited edition four-way-split 7" with The Jade Shader, Facing New York, and Years Around The Sun!!! Visit them too on MySpace. And check out Daniel's almost finished solo-project, Identical Homes, its panty-dropping music.
*PHEW* I think that’s it for now. Our records are still in heavy rotation at the Sacramento post office down-town.
Ahoy Mateys! I'm not sure if that's Auzzie talk or pirate talk, but get your Vegemite, Jason Webley is heading to Australia and New Zealand with The Dresden Dolls! Here are the dates, and if you see my friends Lisa, Lynn or Karen at the shows, buy them drinks for me:
Check out Jason Webley on tour in Australia and New Zeland with THE DRESDEN DOLLS this September! Visit his website for the details on that, more upcoming USA touring, and the 2nd in his series of Super Seven-Inches limited to 1,111 each and available now for mail-order!
Speaking of Jason Webley, I just got back from Seattle! It was a blast, and we got to watch The River City Rebels and drink with The Briefs.
If you're in Seattle and get hungry, check out what Jason Webley refers to as The best dumplings in the world at The Szechuan Noodle Bowl (420 8th Ave S on the corner of Jackson). We spent less than $5 each and were totally stuffed off their yummy awesomeness.

Mail-order update: Springman Mail-order is on hold until June 21st, so for now, visit www.interpunk.com or your favorite online mail-order, and send us an e-mail if there is anything you can't find. We have been a bit slow with mail-order since moving to Sacramento earlier this year, so we are going to make sure it is back to being a well oiled super-fast machine before we bring it back. If you are still waiting on an order for anything other than Pain's Jabberjaw CD, PLEASE send me an e-mail so we can take care of that (and if you're waiting on the Pain disc, we will have them back in stock soon!)
Lots more exciting things are in the works, stay tuned for updates. Come back over the next few days for everyone's updated summer tour dates. And thanks again for all your support!
