3/24/2007: Steady Riot, and Phenomenauts + Slackers Dates Big D And The Kids Table were fucking awesome at The Fillmore on Thursday night as part of their current tour with Anti Flag!Remember this one from a few years back?  I am just SO FUNNY!!! Sorry. Anyway, Big D's latest album, Strictly Rude on Side One Dummy Records, blows my mind. I haven't felt this way about a ska record since hearing Op Ivy's Energy and Less Than Jake's Pezcore for the first time. 2/18/2007: MP3s for vinyl and the Japanese Invasion In the comments, Mr Anonymous asks if people who buy our vinyl-only releases can download the songs on MP3.This is a great idea! It might not be possible for records licensed from other labels (like the Big D/Brain Failure split), but I'm into it for Springman releases and will look into setting it up. If you mail-ordered the Tera Melos 12" LP and are having trouble finding the MP3s, send an e-mail to the address up on the top of this website, I'll point you in the right direction. == One of my favorite bands in the world right now, The Ging Nang Boyz from Japan, were in town this past week! They are releasing a 12" EP on Bob from Shinobu's very own Phat And Phunky Phonics! I'll obnoxiously remind you about this once it comes out. Watch their crazy video!! They also have soft and cute songs that generally aren't performed like train-wrecks, but the train-wrecks are very fun to watch. 1/31/2007: Some updates, some class School started this week so I've been behind on website updates, but not on mail-order! The post office is getting sick of seeing me every day and has been making me put stamps on all the packages by hand.The Tera Melos pre-orders have been sent but may take up to a week since most of you ordered with "Media Mail" shipping. It took a week to send them all since they're very securely wrapped in cardboard to avoid damage, sorry to keep you waiting but this one will be worth it! Some quick updates: The Springman Records showcase in Sacramento on Friday was a huge success and lots of fun, thank you all for coming out! I especially enjoyed handing out cupcakes and shark-themed 3D glasses to everyone before The Phenomenauts' set, even though the 3D glasses had nothing to do with anything. The Shecretions built some AMAZING games out of cardboard that we didn't get to use since it was so crowded and I was on crutches, but I saved them in my closet and will bring them out to future events so you can throw the red rocket in the black hole and blast Skelator! Hopefully they'll also be into setting up the Kissing-Booth... Tera Melos is on tour with The Fall Of Troy and running out of merch. Big D And The Kids Table's pre-order for the Brain Failure split starts in.. Shit, 15 minutes, I better set that up, check back in an hour. 12/08/2006: Wax Tracks A quick reminder before I start this update:Check out our holiday deals! Lots of music is listed to the right, including special low-prices for compilation and Phenomenauts related packages. Our prices are low, the music awesome, and mail-order is getting sent out three times a week, so hurry up and purchase your friend's love for the new year! On to the news: Check out Big D And The Kids Table's website for studio updates as they record their upcoming full-length for our friends at Side One Dummy! The demo's for their new songs are incredible, come March or April when that record comes out, we will all be in for quite a treat. To hold us over until then, their split CD with Brain Failure (from China!) will be released on February 20th on Bad News Records. We are pleased to announce that the vinyl version will be on Springman with a limited pressing of 1,000 on colored wax! More info on that one soon. Thanks to everyone who gave "five-star" ratings to The Phenomenauts music video for "Mission" over at MySpace.com, putting us on their front-page for a week and getting over 110,000 full video views!!! I still can't believe that happened, and would like to welcome all the brand new cadets to this here lovely website. The Phenomenauts have just a few shows booked right now that we will be announcing very soon, but will be back with a very triumphant return in March or April with loads of new material and effects! And hey, with all these new songs, you never know whats just around the space-corner... The Teenage Harlets will be doing a little west-coast tour in January with our idols in The Rock And Roll Adventure Kids! Also in the works is a series of super-sweet split 7"'s that we'll be telling you more about going into 2007. Tera Melos is doing a shit-load of shows all over the country with The Fall Of Troy! They just got out of the studio too, and if we can get our shit together on time for this tour, well, I'll tell you later, just be excited. Be very excited. And finally, thank you to TUK Shoes for hooking up The Phenomenauts, Big D And The Kids Table and The River City Rebels! When you see us looking all bad-ass and tall, its TUK's fault. 12/05/2006: News news news Check out Tera Melos on tour all January and February with Fall Of Troy!!! Final dates coming soon, but for now check out the tentative info on the Fall Of Troy website.== We've gotten way to much e-mail about this: Big D And The Kids Table's next album will be on Side One Dummy Records. This is GREAT news for both us and for Big D. We are incredibly stoked on what we were able to accomplish for the band over these past two years and glad we were able to be such a great launching point for them. Our involvement with the band is far from over, and some of the band's best material ever is in the process of being recorded. As a personal note, I started going to college full time about a year ago, and began very actively searching out new label homes for our bands, labels that could do more than we could. Springman by no means folding or closing down, but with my #1 priority for two years being school instead of the rock-n-roll, it wouldn't be fair for me to hold anyone back. Over this time, our entire roster has made incredible leaps and bounds. Big D is the first band to have some pretty rad announcements in this field, but look out for the rest of our roster to be graduating very shortly, and we couldn't be happier with our accomplishments. And don't worry, there is a new generation of absolutely incredible bands that we are working with full time, and the old guard won't be disappearing anytime soon. == I'm glad organizations like Google are doing things like this. I'm not sure if it really means anything so far, but they have resources and are thinking about it. 11/02/2006: News Dump!!! I hope you had a safe and fun Halloween. Things at Springman HQ are BONKERS! Thank you for coming here for your Holiday shopping needs, we have lots of great cheap CDs and we appreciate your keeping our mail-order department super busy.Here is a band-by-band update! The Phenomenauts just announced another round of dates with The Toasters coming up this month! Visit their MySpace page for the details, and check back next week for EVEN MORE shows. The Phenomenauts' Annual Zombie Party was incredible as usual this year, with a surprise appearance by The Teenage HarNuts:  Those with a good memory may remember The PhenomeNuts from last-year:  Big D And The Kids Table just played two epic Halloween parties in Boston at The Avalon! If you have pictures or video from either show, please post it online for us to share! Big D just got done playing a bunch of shows with The Toasters, I like how they play with our bands on both coasts. Check out Big D on tour with Rancid in December! 8/03/2006: Avi and Big D on the TopWelt PodCast! Check out the latest PodCast from TopWelt on their MySpace page, featuring an interview with yours-truly along with Big D And The Kids Table! The show basically turned into the Springman episode with nearly exclusive content from our bands, and a contest where five winners get a free Springman Records shirt.And for the record I really like Fall Out Boy a lot and have even been known to get cut off at Kareoke bars for doing to good of a job on that "Sugar, we're going down swinging" song where you can't tell what the hell he's saying, but that's just because I love them so much and was just kind of drunk when this interview took place.
