The new releases just won't stop! Next month we will be releasing the debut solo album from RIVER CITY REBELS front-man Daniel O'Day, also known as THE BOPPER. It will be in stores October 10th, but you can get yours early by pre-order right here.
Over the past few years, The River City Rebels have become friends and touring partners with nearly every band on our roster. While this is probably going to be our most controversial partnership since Treephort, we've gotten to really know the Rebels over the years and take great pride in welcoming them to the Springman family. Their upcoming full-length will blow your mind, and this acoustic record is a welcome change of pace, more in the singer/songwriter vein, fitting in somewhere between Joe Strummer, Wilco and Bright Eyes -- check out some songs on Dan's MySpace profile.
Hot on the heels of their first national headlining tour, The Phenomenauts have announced some local shows along with ten dates in November with ska heavyweights The Toasters.
Also announced is The Phenomenauts annual "Halloween Zombie Party" on October 27th, and a show the band is hosting but not playing with The Briefs, both being hosted by their Command Center in West Oakland.
Here are their upcoming tour dates:
10/13/2006

The Briefs, Teenage Harlets, Rock And Roll Adventure Kids -- NOT A PHENOMENAUTS SHOW
Hello friends who just read The Rum Diary's e-mail announcement! Click here for more information about their upcoming four way split 7" with Facing New York, The Jade Shader and Years Around The Sun. It is almost here!!!
For those of you not on their e-mail list, here is some Rum Diary news direct from that horsey's mouth.
It's true, our drummer moved to New York. It's also true that we took a well deserved break while I moved to San Francisco, worked on some side projects and while we found another place to practice. We are, however, still practicing, writing and recording songs, and releasing records. We will miss Joe with all of our hearts as a friend and a band mate, but we must press on as we have plenty of unfinished business. Here are some fun facts: --We are writing and recording 4 new songs at the Cotati Sound Machine (now located in San Francisco). --We plan to start playing live again by the end of this year with the help of a laptop and our friend/genius multi-instrumentalist Jake.
Ahoy Mateys! I'm not sure if that's Auzzie talk or pirate talk, but get your Vegemite, Jason Webley is heading to Australia and New Zealand with The Dresden Dolls! Here are the dates, and if you see my friends Lisa, Lynn or Karen at the shows, buy them drinks for me:
In a myspace.com blog-post, guitarist Jeff Worms has announced his parting ways with Tera Melos. "We are all still friends," said Worms. "The guys made it clear that I could come back whenever (don't hold your breath), which is very sweet of them."
The remaining members will continue touring in support their untitled debut CD, and have some really fucking exciting things coming up that I can't tell you about just yet. There are no plans to actively search for a new guitar player, but the band is open to getting a new member if the chemistry fits. We've all had a blast hanging out and working with Jeff and wish him the best.
Another new project! We were going to announce it next week, but punknews.org scooped us:

Space traveling psychobilly heroes THE PHENOMENAUTS take time off from their first ever national headlining tour to jack the Fungus 53 studios during three different segments of the show HEE HAW HELL. Like a 1950's sci-fi film come to life, THE PHENOMENAUTS live show and songs about rockin' robots, hot rod rockets and sizzling space sexpots are the stuff of interstellar legend. Check 'em out as they dock their Phenoma-Bomber to the XM satellites for the very first time.
